1. Asking and Giving Clarification
Read the dialogue carefully !
Melly   : “Hi, Eliza, what’s your planning next holiday?”
Eliza    : “I don’t have any planning.”
Melly   : “do you like flowers?”
Eliza    : “Yes, I like them. But they cost a lot of money.”
Melly   : “why don’t you grow some flowers in front of your verandah?”
Eliza    : “grow flowers? I am sorry I can’t.”
Melly   : “I’ll show you.”
Eliza    : “Really! Tell me about this.”
Melly   : “Of course. I am sure, because I like gardening and I have planted many flowers. Let me
    Show you.”
Dari percakapan singkat tersebut kita menemukan beberapa ungkapan yang bercetak tebal. Ungkapan-ungkapan tersebut adalah ungkapan yang diigunakan untuk meminta dan memberi penjelasan (klarifikasi).

2. using of Indefinite Pronoun with “else”
Study the dialogue below!
Mother            : “dear, don’t forget buy me some oranges.”
Santi    : “sure, Mom.”
Mother            : “be careful, Santi! The street is very crowded.”
Santi    : “Of course Mom. Anything else, Mom?”
Mother            : “One thing, if you want to go somewhere else, please contact me”
Santi    : “All right. See you Mom.”
Mother            : “see you.”
Kalimat yang dicetak tebal pada dialog di atas adalah contoh penggunaan indefinite pronoun (kata ganti tak tentu) with “else”. Somewhere dan anything disebut indefinite pronoun yang diikuti adverb of degree “else” yang berarti “yang lain”
Macam-macam kata ganti tak tentu :
each                                         7. anyone
all                                            8. anything
one                                          9. none
everyone                                  10. nothing
everything                               11. either
someone                                  12. neither

Indefinite pronoun with “else”
Nothing else    : tak ada yang lain                               somewhere else           : tempat ang lain
Anything else  : ada yang lain                                     somebody else             : orang lain

Example:
I am sorry, I can’t buy the dress. Please ask somebody else
There is just a bowl of soup on the table, there is nothing else
Let’s buy something else. I have had these stuffs
Anything else you will buy, Madam?
